China-Malaysia Vocational Education Cooperation Conference

The year 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. A consensus has been forged between the two nations to collectively endeavor towards the construction of a Chinese-Malaysian community of shared future. Over the past decades, the depth of cooperation between the two nationshas markedly increased, driven by a focus on common interests and shared valueson all fronts. Under the Belt and Road Initiative framework, the economic exchanges between China and Malaysia have become more frequent. China has maintained its status as Malaysia's primary trading partner for 14 consecutive years, while Malaysia has risen to become China's second-largest trading partner within the ASEAN region.
Acknowledged as a crucial part of educational system, vocational education endeavors to enhance employment rate and promote technological advancement. The ongoing advancement of internationalization, globalization and artificial intelligenceare opening a brand new marketand creating opportunities for vocational educationand training in the world.While the two sides held high-level visits and various commemorative activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary between the two countries, the vocational education sectors have also engaged in more extensive cooperation.
This conference aims to provide an exceptional venue for dialogue, collaboration and networking among scholars, vocational colleges and international enterprises. To foster mutual understanding of the Chinese and Malaysian vocational education situation, the Conference offers a platformfor the exhibition and exchange of vocational education concepts and accomplishments as well as for fostering college-enterprise cooperation. Thus, the Conference will contribute to the establishment of a shared future of the two nations, paving the way towards mutual development and prosperity.
I. Organization

Undertaken by Confucius Institute of the University of Malaya; "Vocation, Technology & Education" (VTE, Academic Journal)
Supported by Department of Ploytechnique and Community College Education, Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (To be determined); Embassy of PRC in Malaysia

IV. Participants
The conference welcome distinguished guests from China, Malaysia, other contributing countries and international organizations:
• Officers and policymakers from national and provincial education authorities;
• Professors, tutors, and researchers in the field of vocational education;
• Representatives from polytechnics, vocational colleges and schools, universes of applied science and other TVET teaching institutes;
• Representatives from enterprises and industry associations.
V. Contents
The Conference comprises 4 events: ConferenceReports, Education Exhibition, Exchange Visits for International Co-operationand Vocational Colleges and Enterprises Talks.
Conference Reports will feature presentations by esteemed experts, researchers and scholarsin the field of vocational education and training. They will elaborate on topics as new opportunities and challenges in both countries and international cooperation in vocational education.
Education Exhibition will showcase photo exhibition and video exhibition. Leading vocational institutesin China and Malaysia will share their unique experiencesand achievements in developing integration between industry and vocational education.
Visits to local TVET schools and colleges will visit the representative vocational institutions in Malaysia. Discussions will coverprojects including teacher-student exchanges, cooperation in educational management, curriculum and standards exchange. This initiative aims to enhancemutual understanding, trust, cooperation, and promote exchange between vocational institutions fromthe two countries.
Visits to local Enterprises will provide a platform for Chinese and Malaysian vocational colleges and enterprises to reach cooperation intentions and forgeclose partnerships. This will contributeto the internationalization of vocational education and enterprises in both China and Malaysia.
VI. Fees:
No registrationfees are applicable for the Conference. Participants are responsible for their accommodation, meals,airfares,and insurance.
Invited guests will receive complimentary accommodation and meals.
